Dear Cast, Crew, and Parents, With only a week remaining until the North Hills Drama Club's production of "Pride and Prejudice," there are many fundraising opportunities coming up that will help defer the costs of this play and the spring musical, "Dames at Sea." We need your help to capitalize on these opportunities and support the Drama Club! Here is a quick overview of what's coming up, and the support we will need from the cast and crew families: Lottery ticket gift basket donations. Please send at least a $1 lottery scratch-off ticket with your cast or crew member to one of the two dress rehearsals this weekend. (Larger donations are welcome.) These tickets will be used to assemble a lottery ticket gift basket that will be raffled off in the lobby, with tickets sold during every performance. Gift basket raffles represent a huge fundraising source! Attached is a letter explaining this basket from Heather Margo, who is doing an amazing job of coordinating the gift baskets this year. Cookie donations for the lobby at every show. We ask that every cast and crew family bring 2 dozen cookies to the lobby on their assigned date (see attached list). These cookies will be offered to audience members at intermission for a suggested cash donation. Again, this is an important fundraiser and would not be possible without the generosity of our cast and crew families. We will send daily reminders because we know it's easy to forget your assigned day during the busy show weekend. TGI Friday's restaurant fundraiser, Friday, November 10. The cast and crew traditionally go to TGI Friday's after the Friday night performance. We have scheduled a fundraiser that day so 20 percent of our sales go directly to the North Hills Drama Club! Please bring the attached flyer; we will also have coupons on site at the restaurant. Please encourage your family and friends to also visit TGI Friday's that day and use the flyer to donate a portion of their check. Chipotle restaurant fundraiser, Tuesday, November 14. We are also hosting a fundraiser at the Chipotle at 4861 McKnight Road on Tuesday, November 14, between 4:00 and 8:00 pm. 50 percent of our sales go directly to the Drama Club! You can bring the attached flyer or simply tell the cashier that you are supporting the North Hills Drama Club fundraiser. Again, please encourage your family and friends to visit Chipotle that day to support the club. Thanks in advance for your support over the next couple of weeks. The Drama Club would not be successful without your efforts. If you have any other fundraising ideas, please share them with us at [email protected]. We are always looking for new ideas! 2017-18 Drama Club Parent Coordinators
The deadline for placing program ads for "Pride and Prejudice" has been extended to Wednesday, October 25. Please submit the ad submission form (below) and payment to Kevin Richey by that date. In addition to recognizing your cast or crew member with an ad, please consider soliciting ads from local businesses that you visit frequently. Revenues from ads represent 100% profit for the Drama Club, and can be used to defray costume rentals and other costs associated with the show. Thanks for your support! We are still recruiting volunteers for the lobby during the weekend of the show, November 9-11. Below is the most recent sign-up sheet, showing open positions. If you're planning to attend a performance, volunteering in the lobby will not affect your ability to see the play. So please consider signing up, it's fun and a great opportunity to meet other parents. Finally, Heather Margo and Maureen Pearson are leading the effort to collect donations for gift baskets that will be raffled off in the lobby during the show weekend. They need your help! Volunteers can sign up for a "territory" or simply approach North Hills business owners they already know. To support this effort, just respond to this email or contact Heather at [email protected]. Thanks for your involvement in the Drama Club Parents Association and, as always, email us at [email protected] with any questions. Drama Club Parent Co-Coordinators
Dear Parents, In case you missed our first meeting this past week, we are attaching the agenda so that you can have an idea of what was discussed. We will be needing lots of volunteers to help with the upcoming Election Day Bake Sale, as well as with staffing the various tables in the lobby during the play. Please take a look at the attached sign up sheets, and let us know if you are willing and able to take any of the blank spots. We also need volunteers to help solicit volunteers for our basket auction that is held in the lobby during the play. This has been a huge fundraiser in the past. If you know of any local business owners who would be willing to donate an item or gift card to be auctioned off in a basket, we would greatly appreciate any contribution they would be willing to make! Please email nhdramaparents.com for a list of businesses that might possibly make donations, divided up by North Hills territories. If you would be willing to take on a territory and approach the businesses, we would greatly appreciate it! Please let us know which businesses you have approached so we can avoid having multiple people ask the same ones for donations. For more information, reply to this e-mail or contact Heather Margo at [email protected] Also attached is the "Pride and Prejudice" Program Ad Form: The deadline for placing ads in the printed program is October 16th. Sales of these ads directly benefit the Drama Club, so please consider placing personal ads, as well as approaching local businesses that might be willing to support the North Hills Drama Club. Don't forget that the Drama Club has a section on the North Hills Choral Website where you can always find the most recent information. The address is: http://www.northhillschoralmusic.org. Look for the tab "High School Drama Club." Thank you so much for all that you do, and please let us know if you have any questions or any fundraising ideas that haven't been mentioned! Welcome to the Drama Club Parent Association! If you are receiving this email, it is because your child signed up for the North Hills Drama Club for the 2017-2018 school year. If you hear of anyone that is not receiving these emails and they should be, please contact us at [email protected]. It probably means their child is not officially signed up for Drama Club or needs to return their contact information sheet. We will be holding our first Drama Club Parent Association meeting on Tuesday, October 3, at 7:00 pm in the High School Choir Room (Enter the doors near the Auditorium, make a right, take the first left, then take another left. The Choir Room is on the right). The meeting should only last about an hour. All Drama Club parents are encouraged to attend, but this meeting is especially important if your child is part of the cast and crew for the fall play, "Pride and Prejudice," scheduled for November 9-11. If your child is in the cast or crew, we ask that at least one parent attend the meeting. We will be discussing fundraising plans, volunteer needs, and other important information. Please contact us if you are unable to make the meeting but would still like to help out in any way! We're attaching two documents for your review: Parent Overview: This is an overview of how the Drama Club works, key contacts, important dates, etc. You may want to print this document and refer to it throughout the year. "Pride and Prejudice" Program Ad Form: The deadline for placing ads in the printed program will be October 16th. Sales of these ads directly benefit the Drama Club, so please consider placing personal ads, as well as approaching local businesses that might be willing to support the North Hills Drama Club. As you're looking at your calendar, please keep in mind these important dates when we will need many volunteers: Tuesday, November 7: We will need volunteers and donations of baked goods for our annual Election Day Bake Sale, held all day at North Hills Middle School outside the polls. We will provide details and a sign-up sheet on October 3. Thursday, November 9 through Saturday, November 11: We will need volunteers for the lobby during the fall play. Again, we'll provide more information and an opportunity to sign up on October 3. Finally, the Drama Club has a section on the North Hills Choral Website where you can always find the most recent information. The address is: http://www.northhillschoralmusic.org. Look for the tab "High School Drama Club." We're looking forward to an exciting year of supporting the North Hills Drama Club. See you at the meeting on Tuesday, October 3, at 7:00 pm!
